Why So Moderated?

Our site is pretty heavily filtered. Until your account is approved by an admin, other users can't see your user record or reviews. Until a comic has been approved by an admin, other users can't see it. Until a review is approved by an admin, other users can't see it. Pretty draconian, huh?

Yeah, it is. However, it should essentially eliminate spam from the site experience -- except maybe for us. No one can submit any content without signing up. Again, reduces influx of spam. The barriers to entry might be a little higher than we'd ideally like, but everyone here has put in at least some kind of minimal effort.

What We Approve

Pretty much anything which isn't spam. We have specific approval guidelines for everything else:

Webcomics

Every comic on the site should be a comic with a web presence. We want to link to webcomics. We don't want to link to the page about a newspaper comic that doesn't actually have its full run on the web. (Dilbert could be okay, since they have the full run on the web. Some other comics, maybe not.)

We aren't interested in porn. Comics which happen to have sex in them aren't necessarily porn.

Users

Name that isn't "too offensive" -- our call, that. Email address you have access to.

Reviews

No obscenity, not spam, some kind of relation to the comic.
